About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver Canada.

In my current research I apply new institutional perspectives to family and community sociology. You can read more about my research here.

I have had the opportunity to teach to a variety of students including sociology undergraduates, social work graduate students, and Swiss university students. Details for students in my current classes can be found here.

When not doing sociology, my current passions include practicing yoga, making ceramic arts, cooking vegetarian food, and following baseball.
